"I think I'm over it now but there are more anniversary dates to come"
How I did it: 1-I accepted what happened
2-I read "Rebuilding When Your Relationships Ends" by Bruce Fisher
3-I let time take it's course
4-I distanced myself from him
5-I talked with friends
6-I did lots of fun things for myself
7-I made a point of doing lots of new things
8-I did stuff I couldn't do or was discouraged from doing when we were together
9-I made a point to prepare for big anniversary type days and holidays
10-I forgave
Lessons & tips: It takes time. Therapy helped. Having good friends and establishing a life separate from our life together really helped. One of the most important steps for me was preparing for the big anniversary type days and holidays because I honored what we had had together but I really created a lot of new fun memories of my own.
