How to appreciate myself
How I did it: Self-acceptance can sometimes be a hard thing to learn, but it's definitely worth it in the end. It took two years of hating certain, nit-picky things about myself - my wavy hair, my shyness, stuff like that - to realize that I wasn't doing myself any favors. The best thing I could really do to make those bad thoughts about myself vanish was learn to love those things, to learn to laugh at myself instead of tear myself down.
Lessons & tips: Whatever you dislike about yourself, look at it from a different perspective. Is my frizzy hair all that bad? Is my world going to cave in on itself just because I don't have a washboard stomach.
Learning to laugh at and love yourself is definitely a step in the right direction - but don't become so modest you don't take credit for how great you really are!
