Congratulations, what beautiful babies!
How to have a baby
How I did it: Myself, I handled it quite well. My wife was in shock for the first couple of hours after the first ultrasound - we found we had twins. The two boys had very distinct personalities during the pregnancy, that helped make us more excited. We could feel them as real little people inside. One loved Sinatra, the other loved Beach Boys. They would start dancing to the music. One was more excitable, the other easy-going, but both very, very active.
My wife brought the twins three weeks past normal term for twins (nearly full term for a singleton), 39 weeks.
Lessons & tips: She is a type I diabetic and found out very late that a fetus will take as much blood sugar as it needs from the mother - twins take even more, leaving almost none for my wife. My wife had to constantly monitor her blood sugar - pricking her fingers as many as 12 times a day. But by the second trimester she had better hA1c levels than a regular person.
My wife and I had the idea of spending almost a month quite some time before she was due and just cooking and cooking and freezing it all. Then when the little ones were born we had meals ready in the freezer without worrying about all the prep work and shopping.
