How to know how to solve a rubik's cube

"Easier than I thought it would be. It's nice to know how to do it (about 30 years after it was cool to know)."
How I did it: I used the solver booklet that came with my Rubik's cube and combined that with a couple online sites. The key is to have a solving strategy (cross, corners, middle, cross, corners) and then memorize the turn combinations to accomplish each step.
Now that I have learned it, it's sort of boring . . . but I can get over that by looking up faster, more efficient ways of solving the cube.
Lessons & tips: Google something like "rubik's cube solutions". There are many out there, so look through until you see one or two that make sense to you and are easy for you to follow.
