How to lie down in the middle of a field, in the dead of night, and observe the beauty of the stars

How I did it: Went to the local park on a really clear night with members of an evening class in Astronomy to learn about the stars. I have since returned and shown off my knowledge to boyfriends after a special date.
Lessons & tips: Depending on where you are remember to wear a good insect repellent.
Study up on the stars so you can recognise the constellations you're looking at.
Get a book (from the library) on the Greek myths so you can marrying up the stories with the stars.
Use a flashlight with a red bulb to point out individual stars and planets.
