How I did it: I knew I wanted the symbol of my Taekwon-Do club on my shoulder. I thought about it for several years before I got it done. I asked a couple of friends where they had theirs done, checked the place out, and made an appointment. 

Lessons & tips: Think about it thoroughly before hand. I had mine in mind for years before I got it done. 

Resources: Friends with tattoos usually have favorite tattoo parlors and know how what a good price is.
