How to go to bed earlier
How I did it: I guess uni and work helped. I just start going to bed whenever I feel sleepy, instead of forcing myself to stay up. I usually get up at the same time each day, even though class starts at all manner of hours. I usually go to bed around 11:30pm now, when last time I wouldn't go to bed before midnight, and get up at 6:30am each day. So, I've now reached the stage where, even if I sleep at different times the night before (this mainly applies to weekends), I'll automatically wake up when either a) 6:30am if I went to bed at roughly the same time the night before, or b) the 7 hour mark, if I went to bed so late I oversleep 6:30am.
Yep, I think uni has cured me.
Lessons & tips: Force yourself to go to bed at the same time every night, and get up at the same time every day. A motivational story or two wouldn't hurt--I became motivated to do this when a friend had to get up at 5am for 7am start at uni for Mondays and Tuesdays, and figured it'd be easier (eventually) to adjust to get up at 5am for the rest of the week than wake up normal for the rest of the week but Mon and Tues be a major uphill struggle.
