How to eat a sugar free diet
How I did it: I've known for some time that I'm a sugar addict and that so many things in my life go better without it. I hate that truth, but there it is. I don't think I'm headed for a completely sugar-free diet the rest of my life, but I often have 'dessert' at every meal. That doesn't really work on a number of levels. So, it's barely any sugar and I'm doing it. The last 3 weeks. Most I've gone is 3 months, so maybe I'll adjust the goal now to 'go without sugar for 3+ months.'
Lessons & tips: Working out with a trainer really really hard and really really often makes sugar far less tempting. I think to myself when I'm craving it, 'I did NOT just work out and nearly cry to ruin it with a piece of cheesecake.' Sometimes that's enough of an argument, sometimes now. And when it's not, all I can do is breathe through it...and it passes.
