How to exercise three times a week
How I did it: I just did it. Sometimes I didn't feel like doing it. Sometimes I made excuses - like it's too cold or I'm too tired, or whatever. But most of the time I made myself go for a walk or jog on those days. I also had my sister with me most of the time. She helped give me a reason to stay on track, and gave me someone to converse with while I walked.
Lessons & tips: When you don't feel like working out, do it anyway. You'll be happy you accomplished the session even though you didn't feel like doing it, and this will motivate you to keep working out and even to accomplish other goals you "just haven't felt like doing".
If weather is a deterrent for you, find a way to weather proof your workouts. Have long underwear, hoodies, ear muffs, scarves, gloves, or water proof outerwear on hand for days that are too cold, too windy, or too rainy.
Resources: Running/walking shoes, or whatever footwear needed for the workout you're trying to accomplish
Workout wear (sweatpants, etc)
A watch or cell phone to help you keep time
A workout buddy, preferably one that is up for anything and doesn't make excuses
