How to watch pulp fiction
"Ezekiel 25:17"
How I did it: The frst time i saw it i was young and didn't get much of it...i though it was beautifully shot and the actors were awesome, especially Jules and Vincent.
Around 10 years later i saw Reservoir Dogs and just loved it. So i wanted to watch more of QT's movies, and guess what i come across!! Anyway, i also read up an internet article that some research students had written about the undercurrents and the complex layers of the story, as part of a study of QT's works. (I hate myself for not bookmarking the link!!)
Anyway, i guess i understood the movie a lot better, maybe cause i was a lot mature now.
Lessons & tips: Tip: You can't get the movie in one viewing. You have to see it many times over, and every time you see it you'll observe something new! (ok, butch's girlfriend is an exception!!)
I really identified with the character of Jules who does what he does with style and character. He is honest and loyal to his boss. But when he witnesses an 'event', he is equally honest and convicted towards his feelings and opinions and who he is, and has the courage to make what others would consider a foolish decision!
'Fight Club' and 'Pulp Fiction' are p'bly the only two movies that have touched me in this way...and i am glad they have!
