And, while the time period ended 6 days ago, I still have not bought any!
How to do not buy any candy for a whole year
It made me
satisfied 
"Easier than I thought."
How I did it: First one day at the time. Just not buying. Remember that you can still ask for candy, and eat if offered, just not buy.
It got easier soon, and the last handful of months were really easy.
Lessons & tips: Do count the days you've done fine with, at first.
Do not give up if you fail sometimes (though I did not, I'm very happy with that).
