How to eat healthier
How I did it: I don't know how to explain it. I just tried to start thinking more about what I need to eat more or less of and followed it. I eat salad almost every day, even if it's with dressing (and I try not to drench it in the dressing). I often eat fruit as snacks/desserts (sometimes with peanut butter or something like that). I don't eat "junk food" every day and try to go for healthier snacks, but I do indulge in "junk food" every now and then. I don't think I could live my life without ice cream once in awhile, haha...
Lessons & tips: Be more conscious of what you eat now and how you can change it, even in small or simple ways. Make small goals for yourself to start you off.
- Try whole wheat bread instead of white bread
- If you drink whole milk, try 2%. You almost can't tell the difference (I didn't).
- Don't eat after 9 pm (or at least a couple hours before you sleep), until you wake up in the morning for breakfast, that is.
- Eat 3 square meals a day. I'm sure you hear this all the time, but it's true that breakfast is super important.
- When eating snacks, don't eat a lot. They're snacks, not meals.
I hope these help. :)
Resources: I guess the Food Pyramid helps (it gives you an idea of how much fruits, vegetables, or whatever else you should be eating per day).
