How to work less
How I did it: If you are a teacher, you have to find ways to make life simpler for yourself. I figured out how to assign kids skill-building assignments that were easy to grade, and summative projects or essays that were meaningful and (consequently) time-consuming for the kids. My students do a lot of their writing, scripting, and filmmaking in class, which makes life easier for me and ensures that I can watch their progress and gauge their understanding accurately. It requires less planning to teach on these days.
Basically, that's how I did it.
Lessons & tips: Assign daily work that's easy to grade (grade for check-off, completion, or give accuracy grades for certain portions and not others). Then assign projects that measure student's abilities to apply the skills they've learned, and use class time to complete them.
Resources: I still make most of my own.
