How I did it: People I know that have gotten tattoos haven't gotten them locally, so to find some one good I researched tats and then spent some time on Yelp. Also meeting with artists and purveying their portfolio is a good idea too. The artist I met with was very talented and professional; I recommend finding someone like that. But since I had given myself a lot of time to think this through, I knew everything I wanted.
