How to lose 20 lbs
How I did it: I come from family of very large people. Most men and women are 200 pounds and up. I watched most of them yo-yo for years and years. I decided that I would never start a diet unless I was sure I could keep the lifestyle up. After a few years of following in my families footsteps and emotional eating, I started to pile on the weight myself.
Finally before I ballooned out of control , I found a program that seemed right for me. I joined weight watchers. Most people are intimidated for others to know their weight but it's not like that. You are in a group of people who are all there for the same purpose and noone is judging you. The can actually offer you some advice on their own experiences.
It is very motivating to be sitting in a room with people who have had their weight off for year and a person sitting next to you has lost 80 pounds. I only need to lose 50. It makes you believe if they can do it, you can too.
I also came to realized that if you don't have to see the top of the staircase to take the first step. And you don't have to walk the stairs in 2 days. One step at a time, one pound or half pound at a time. Before you know it 6 months has gone by and you have lost a mere pound a week which adds up to the magical number of 24lbs Yay!!!! I'm halfway there!
The only negative is that it costs a lot of money,but realistically it's worth the money you'll eventually save on your health.
I also joined Belly dancing which is very enjoyable for me. Other people may find other activities more interesting
Lessons & tips: Don't worry what other people think about you. In the story of the turtle and the hare. Be the turtle. Slow and steady wins the race.
