How to learn to play the guitar
It made me 
"Up-strums come slowly."
How I did it: Got a guitar for Chirstmas. Learned chord shapes. Pressed down fingers in shapes till it hurt. Strummed with other hand. Practiced changing shapes while strumming. Tried to do upstrums as well. Failed. Tried again. Practiced. Nursed painful fingertips. Learned more chords. Sang.
Lessons & tips: Practice. Learn from everything: Music, friends who play, online tutorials, music books, youtube videos, improvising, listening to what sounds good, internet tabs.
