How to watch 1000 movies
How I did it: At one movie a day, it will take approximately 3 years to see 1000 movies. I'm not a big fan of television shows, so instead of paying a lot for cable service I'd never use, I'm a member of Netflix. I usually work on the computer, eat dinner, or work on projects while watching movies. I watch about 10 movies a week through Netflix and Netflix's instant viewing. I've seen a lot of bad movies, and most of the greats. I recently passed the 3000 movie mark.
- Netflix subscription of 3 or more movies at a time, watching at least one movie per day. If you don't watch TV, you could watch 2-3 movies every evening. Note that it takes about 2-3 days to turn around a mailing. I use the Watch Instantly feature to see movies in between.
- A Blockbuster All-Access Pass can give you two movies at a time for under $30 per month. If you watch two movies every day, that is 60 rentals for $30. If you haven't seen many movies already, this is an easy way to see lots of movies you've never seen at a low price.
- You could download movies from the internet. I've never done this because I have better things to do with my time than search and search for a movie and it ends up being a different title.
Lessons & tips: Keep track of what you watch. Since I have a Netflix account, I use that to rate all the movies I see. This keeps an accurate list of what I've seen so that I don't watch it again (unless I want to).
