"One of the most exillerating experiences in my life."
How I did it: Years ago, I ended up working in a store which was located close to one of Amsterdam's touristic highlights. Customers were foreign rather than Dutch, or so it seemed. So my options were: sell products to the masses and learn English as I went along, or not have a good time with interesting, funny and colourful people and sell only 50% of my targets. What would you pick?
Oh, and there's one more thing of some importance in this field: I went to study in the U.S.A. Fill in a form, pay tuition, and book a flight. That's how I did it.
Lessons & tips: For English 101, try to start a project that has English 'on the side'. Try international blogs, join an internationally focussed group, or read an English book that you've already read in your mother tongue. Why not watch a dvd in English without the subtitles for once?
