How to learn to budget
How I did it: Basically, this came out of necessity. I have not got a steady job and I'm a teen so I go out and piss away money on beer!
I flick through sales catalogues, have seperate purses for seperate things, and figure out what I need to spend in the coming week and portion out what is necessary for different things.
Lessons & tips: -Don't buy things you don't need - simple, but effective.
-Don't buy things at full price. Ever.
-Do your grocery shopping at morning markets, or hey grow your own!
-Do alot of home baking.
-Buy things like shampoo and toiletries in bulk.
-Keep seperate purses, or jars and keep only enough money for those things in them.
-Keep a spare change jar and place all leftovers in it for weekend outings or chocolate : )
- Learn how to sew and do basic alterations. This saves money on repairs and buying new items of clothing. And if you sew from scratch, atleast you'll get exactly what you wanted!
Resources: The internet/google ofcourse! Research recipes, sewing tutorials, DIY home ideas & big name food/clothing stores to see when sales are on. Everything you'll ever need is right here in front of you.
