How to start a photography business
How I did it: I started by just taking thousands and thousands of photos. Then I was asked to do some for money, the results of which were so well received that I knew I had to do it again. A light clicked on in me. All I had to do was make the choice to pursue this dream.
Buying the domain was the first step. Then I did tons of research into what other photographers in the area were offering, and realized that I could provide a service that was at least comparable and even superior. With that information I developed my website and portfolio, and then started advertising. The very next day I received my first inquiry. I'm thrilled.
Lessons & tips: Do your research! Know what you are capable of, and the skills of your competitors as well. Be realistic, but believe in yourself.
