How to work out at least 3 times a week
How I did it: I used to go to the gym at my university, but I don't really like going alone nor do I like being gawked on while I'm doing the weights (which are all on the first floor where the men dominate).
I decided I would work out at home with my exercise bike, weights, and some work-out DVDs. Then I stumbled upon exercisetv.tv, which offers tons of work-outs, from 5mins to 20mins or more, with so many of them for free. I soon found my favourite trainers, found my favourite workouts and switched them up ... now I actually look forward to working out three times a week.
Lessons & tips: 1) Don't make up excuses that 'I don't have any time' ... I decided to spend less time on youtube/facebook and cover that up with exercising. Even 10mins of cardio and weights can really get the heart pumping and burn fat and calories. It's a great thing to do if you sit around a lot, too.
2) I try to do it Monday-Wednesday-Friday or Tuesday-Thursday-Saturday, but don't feel you have to constrain yourself into a routine, especially since life is so unpredictable. If you know you'll be busy the next day, don't worry about working out two days in a row, just make sure you don't strain yourself.
