How I did it: My boyfriend discovered I liked to fish. I had never used a reel before, but he bought me a pink rod&reel and we set out to find some fishing spots. He grew up on a lake so we started there, off shore and off a boat. both ways has their ups&downs but i think i prefer being on shore (as long as its not a shallow rocky bank). being on a boat usually involves a few people and i get nervous and dont feel relaxed.

Lessons & tips: find a place you are comfortable fishing! get a nice pole and reel and practice casting! even if you dont have a reel, cane fishing is great too! do it with friends, enjoy a beer or two and hang out. its so much fun!

Resources: i have a pink lady pflueger, ryan has a big bag of worms and all sorts of things, but sometimes we use a bobber and minows and thats pretty fun
