GOOD JOB!
How I did it: Self Taught - My dad has a guitar that he never plays, so I took that, along with son guitar books, and practiced every day.
My goal was to learn how to play "Blackbird" by the Beatles (which I've now played so often, that I could do it blindfolded!)
Lessons & tips: Just stick with it, your fingers might hurt and you may feel like you're not going anywhere, but it takes time.
Also, learn to play songs that you LOVE. It's way more satifying that way
Resources: An old, beat up acoustic guitar and my dad's K.I.S.S guitar book.

That’s one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever heard: fell in love with my guitar instead ^^

...ahhh I love it!! =D
keats is having fun on 43 things...
I bought an acoustic guitar. Started with some basic youtube lessons. Was doing fine playing scales.
Then I tried chords. And that’s when I realized that I would never be a guitar player. When trying ANY chord requiring more than one string to be held down, fingers were all in the way of other fingers. They sounded HORRIBLE. I tried and tried, but I think my claw hand just doesn’t have it. If you can think of something that I might be doing wrong, great. But….just not feelin it.
It’s important to keep your thumb from hanging over the top of the neck and mores sitting comfortably (or arguably uncomfortable at first) on the back of the neck, that way you get more length for your fingers to curl around the strings. Hold down the strings closer to the fret so you get a cleaner sound. Don’t give up it takes heaps of practise!!
