How to clean out my inbox
How I did it: I applied the four Ds of email:
Delete: read it and then get rid of it; there's very little you need to keep. I saved emails and attachments as needed to the server.
Do: if it only takes a minute or two, do it.
Delegate: that's why I have employees. If there's some action that needs to be taken and someone else can do it, assign it to that person.
Defer: if I can't do it right away, then I dragged the email to the task list, and put a date by which I would complete the task.
I got through my entire inbox this way - I have only about 10 mails left.
