How I did it: When I first left my dad's house, I moved into a house with 6 "friends" and was MISERABLE! Living with people is very different than hanging out with them at parties. After years of living with family, friends, and/or significant others, I went on Craigslist and found an apartment with a roommate. This is the best option for me because having a roommate is cost effective and keeps me in line.
Lessons & tips: Don't rush anything. Save up, find a place you love and can afford and go for it!
