How I did it: I bought three re-usable bags. One for my car, one for my purse, and one lying around to grab if I use a different purse. I also have 7 cloth (which I know are still HORRIBLE for the environment but at least they can be reused for awhile) bags for grocery shopping which I can manage to (usually) fit entirely everything in.

Lessons & tips: Buy more then one re-usual bag. Put them in convenient places (like cars, bags, garages etc.) so you don't forget them on the kitchen counter.
