How to write songs

How I did it: I learned an instrument. I worked on my voice. It's still not that great, but it works.
I made/make myself write some every day, and over time it became easier to express how I feel through song.
Lessons & tips: Practice doesn't necessarily make perfect, but you can't get anywhere close to perfect without it.
