How to act in a play

How I did it: Joined a theatre group for a workshop. Committed to do a play and finally when I got a chance, took it. Downloaded a Script. My friend got the actors together. Started practicing. Got an audience together (basically friends). Got all the props and makeup done (friends helped).
Finally presented the play.
Lessons & tips: Commit, and Just do it.
