How to get SCUBA certified
How I did it: Joined the local Dive Club, The people there were really helpful and you get to dive with lots of different people.
Did my lectures over the winter and then started diving. In the last year have done approx fifty dives. Did my Club Diver exam (CMAS Diver **) last week and passed it. Doing Rescue Diver Exam shortly.
Lessons & tips: Dive. Dive. Dive. You can't get enough experience. I know a lot of people like to learn over a short space of time but I found the year long training schedule with the Club much more conducive to learning and developing confidence in your own ability.
Resources: The Ennis Sub Aqua Club. Other Local Clubs. Really teh diving Community are the most helpful people I've ever met. They'd go out of their way for anyone who shows an interest in learning. Also having the loan of Club gear at the start is very handy as it's quite expensive to get completely kitted out and it's a huge waste if you don't end up loving it.
