How to dye my hair rainbow
How I did it: The colors I used were all Manic Panic: Cotton Candy Pink, Red Passion, Pillarbox Red, Electric Banana, Electric Lizard, Atomic Turquoise, and Ultra Violet. I bleached and lightened my hair a week ahead of time and then put the dyes in in little patches of about one inch by one inch. I have pretty short hair, so I hardly used any of it at all. I left it in my hair for about twenty hours before washing it out. The colors that took well were the yellow, the blue, and the red. All the other colors (green, pink, purple, and the orange I made by mixing red and yellow) showed up as faded yellowish versions of what I thought they would, but are still bright and eye-catching. I really love the results I got. I feel so much like myself, and like such a free spirit with rainbow hair.(Let's see if I still feel that way when I can't get a job, huh?) I would definitely recommend that you just go for it if you're considering rainbow hair.
Lessons & tips: Bleach your hair before you put the dye in it unless you want dark highlights, rather than bright colors. If you don't know much about hair dye, then ask a friend who does, if you know anyone (and if you don't, you can ask me. :P) but don't go to a professional to get your hair dyed. They charge way too much and usually won't be able to give you exactly what you want when it comes to rainbow. Experiment! Remember, it's only hair, and you can always fix it if something doesn't turn out like you expected! :]
