How to witness a miracle
How I did it: I've always said that I believe, "things happen for a reason."
The truth is I believed this phrase only as a retrospective tool; that is, it would be useful for drawing out the positive from all experiences that transpire in life. My outlook on this phrase has greatly changed this year. While I still believe that you are able to learn from the situations life confronts us with, I've found more meaning in this phrase than simply this.
I share the following at the risk of sounding like a religious nutcase...
The people I've met and the situations I've encountered this year have really made me come to believe that, as Nicholas Sparks put it, "God has a bigger plan for me than I have for myself."
At one point I had what I thought I wanted all planed out when all of a sudden I realized I was looking for the wrong things, in all the wrong places. The questions I had silently asked myself He answered with life experiences and meaningful people. By seeing these signs I whole heatedly feel that I am finally becoming the person I'm intended to be.
I am so thankful to see that there's more to life than what I had once believed. There is no co-incidence that I met/reconnected with the people I did when I was faced with so many crucial decisions. I find it hard to believe that this can happen by chance. I know it's not concrete... but
"People see God every day; they just don't recognize Him." Pearl Bailey.
Seeing God touching your life... miracle.
