How I did it: I resisted watching it for the longest time, because I'm not really into sappy movies.

Man, was I wrong. This was much more than just a chick flick.

I really loved the art direction and costumes.
Yes, Ryan Gosling's hot, and I really dig a few of his other movies.

It was on cable back around Christmas.
I watched it back-to-back, on a work night, until 4 in the morning, and cried both times.

My grandmother is currently in the throes of Alzheimer's, so watching this, and a particular scene especially, tore me apart.

It's a really poignant and lovely movie.

Lessons & tips: Just give it a chance.
