How to get an IUD
How I did it: I think in the UK it is easier than in the US. I just went to my clinic and asked for it and they fitted it the same day.
I went to a place where they did a local anaesthetic and they said they
thought that was more effective than anaesthetic gel, but some places
don't have the training to do anaesthetics.
I did a lot of controlled breathing while they were doing it, that helped.
Lessons & tips: It was wierd having period style cramps in the middle of the cycle.
I have been taking pain killers.
It was only this morning so I can't say too much else just now.
I am glad I was not working today as I felt pretty out of it and crampy (like a really heavy horrible period, that kind of feeling, almost to nausea, just without the bleeding).
