How I did it: I started Trainstorm in the spring of 2006, worked on it while having an almost fulltime job in 2006 and 2007 and then took the plunge to go freelance and fulltime at the end of 2007. The decision to quit my job and go fully for it was not easy but looking back at it now I am glad I did it bacause I never could have succeeded without the so necessary time and commitment. Establishing Trainstorm is the best and most fulfilling thing I ever did!
Lessons & tips: Don't be scared! Build things up gradually and then when you feel the time is right go 200% for it and take the risks you need to take!
Resources: Courage, skills in the field your are starting in, financial reserves to bridge the gap between quiting your fulltime and safe job and the day you earn enough to live from, time, commitment and if possible a high degree of organisation.
