How to make 2008 MY year of victory !
How I did it: i did three basic things that kept me on track:
- i made lists everyday of goals and priorities
- I made sure that my lists were time based and i rearranged them constantly
- i did my homework all the time. and my research. oh yeah -- and i practiced a lot.
Lessons & tips: be consistent with those lists. they're like road maps, for me anyway. they keep me on track and give me a sense of accomplishment at the end of the day. when i think, oh wow i'm not getting anything done, i check my progress and realize oh wow i'm getting everything done. and at the end of the day, it's kind of cool to have a written record of that.
don't tell anyone what you're doing. they probably won't get it -- and if they do, they probably won't be very supportive of your idea and will end up resenting you for pulling it off.
that being said, tell someone what you're doing. just make sure that they'll be a massively huge cheerleader for you, because when your back is against the wall, you're going to need it.
oh, and one last very important thing. be sure to stop everything at least once a week and have fun, or at least take a mental health day and do absolutely nothing at all.
