How I did it: I made it a point to take advantage of living in a larger town and attended a service. Found a local group that looked like it could be a good fit. Planned a day to go, then stuck to it. It was a great experience overall. Still deciding if it's right for me.
Lessons & tips: It's like any other gathering of people you don't know yet. Just take a deep breath and try it. Your expectations will vary depending on your prior experiences with spirituality.
