How to dye my hair red.
"I went from morbid-goth black hair, to a funky-spunky red -> life changing. "
How I did it: After experimenting with every color under the sun (purple, green, blue, and finally black) I decided enough was enough and I was ready to get rid of the pitch black hair I had. Well after a horrible mishap with at-home color-stripper I was left with black hair, spotted with bleach stains. Luckily my dad said he'd pay for me to dye my hair any color but black - and thus was the beginning of my red hair movement.
I've been dying my hair Intense Auburn 660 for three years and love every minute of it. Aside from one accident with the wrong box color, it's treated me great! The color starts off vibrant red and then fades to a more natural look.
Lessons & tips: Don't switch reds! Once you find one you like - stick to it! I switched once and it turned out terrible!
Remember, the brighter you go - the faster it fades!
If you want to do highlights (I do blonde) try using a toothbrush. It gets right to the root and does an even applications!
