How to create my lifestyle to support optimal health and longevity
How I did it: I moved to South Korea and left most of my possessions behind. I left my car so that I could bike to work and walk to the store, restaurants, and fitness center! Less gas, less green house emissions, more exercise, more money for other healthy endeavors! I moved to a country where they consider potatoes fattening, let alone pizza and hamburgers! I moved into a free apartment that came with the job and have extra money to buy organic produce and such. I have less distractions in my life, and more time to focus on health. No to mention, for the first time in my life, I have health care coverage! I am finally taking care of long awaited doctors' appointments!
Lessons & tips: Prioritize. Be real and honest. Being healthy in certain areas of the U.S.A. takes copious amounts of will power! If everyone you know (including those closest to you) eats poorly, then you probably will too. I found that the best thing I could do for my health, was get away from the things that were holding me back. This may seem drastic, but it was necessary for me. Make lifestyle changes according to your priorities.
