How I did it: I felt free the moment i moved out of my parents' house for further studies. It took me 5 yrs to get independent, as in financially independent. Today, m not dependent on anyone for anything and its a thing of pride for me or for anyone... when u no longer need to ask for money from ur folks instead u buy them gifts!
Emotionally speaking, i was always an emotionally strong person...mebbe becos of my upbringing so this wasnt hard at all.
Lessons & tips: One SHOULD be independent- emotionally & financially. Then only u can live ur life the way u want it to be.
