How I did it: I went in with my wife (fiance at the time) to Planned Parenthood and took tests for everything before we married. After we found out we where clean and clear we married. It was pretty painless.

Lessons & tips: I recommend everyone take the test often, especially if you're single and sexually active. I would say once every six months at the very least.

Resources: If you're not insured, go to Planned Parenthood like we did. I think they as for a small donation if you can.
