made this goal a little shaky, but I am trying. Yesterday ? High.
Today ? Much lower.
Off to do something about that.
How I did it: After that Memorial Day weekend scare when I should have gone to the Hospital apparantly, I went to my Doctor.
She increased my Metformin and lectured me on why I should be taking this more seriously. So I am.
I begin testing my blood sugar at 6 AM. And I mean, each and EVERY day. I also eat 8 times a day and try ever so hard to consume healthy foods.
I still need to study the food pyramid and glycemic index a little more. But I am pretty well versed in what to avoid. And I have been.
Now the predinsone ending could make things unstable for a time. So I will watch that.
Also, I may be one of those people who has high blood sugars when I am getting sick (and I was -- a sinus infection that also gave me veritigo). So I will bear that in mind too.
Mostly I am just going to keep doing what I am doing, and I will be adding exercise soon. Tai Chi and Swimming (assuming it ever gets warm here...)
Lessons & tips: Pay attention to your numbers.
Get used to checking and do it often.
Don't be afraid to call your dr if you have a problem
Resources: My glucose meter is my best friend
