How to get a meaningful tattoo

"My best friend and I planned a tattoo design together and then got them at the same time last year."
How I did it: We wanted a tattoo that was meaningful to us and also unique (enough). We ended up with the Gaelic phrase Anam Cara, which translates as soul friend. Traditionally, your anam cara was like a platonic soulmate, someone who knew everything inside you and to whom you could confess. It fit us perfectly.
