How to practice Yoga
How I did it: I took yoga for 3 days a week for 4 weeks as a summer class at my university as a 1 credit course. It pretty much forced me to start, and was much better than checking out a home video from the library. The instructor was amazing and allowed me to understand how my body was supposed to respond with hatha yoga.
It was relaxing and really helped my back, which had been aching all semester because of stress and inactivity.
I plan to continue yoga through classes at my gym!
Lessons & tips: I'm definitely not a physical person, and usually hesitate to start a fitness program. But I really wanted to lose weight for my trip overseas to visit my family, and used my yoga class as a kick-off to get active. It helped me get more in tune with my body and appreciate it's ability to bend and stretch in ways I never thought possible.
