How to go to japan

How I did it: My trip began when I saw Jetstar were offering cheap flights to Osaka. I spoke with my housemate about it, booked a flight, told my girlfriend, learnt a little Japanese and did it.
Lessons & tips: Learn Japanese. School aged children and some people in their twenties will be able to help you out with limited knowledge of English, but it would be really, really difficult to get by without any knowledge of Japanese.
Resources: There are accommodation services in most big cities which will help you get accommodation for the night if your Japanese isn't up to scratch. A real life saver.
