How to teach someone to read by Treefern

"To teach someone to read, first you must have a plan and know your student's needs."

How I did it: I wanted to be a literacy teacher. I studied education and took additional courses in teaching reading, writing, phonics and special needs.

I listened to my students read or read what they could write, so I could isolate their areas of difficulties and address those issues.

Lessons & tips: Often when people or children can't read its because no one has taught them.

Learn about how people learn to read.
Have suitable materials.

Dolch word lists, sight words, onset & rime, a good phonics program,
