How to start meditating
How I did it: I went to temple and they taught me how to do it. I started doing it more often because I love it!! It really helps lower stress levels and get in touch with your inner self. You can think clearly, and your thoughts are more readily available.
Lessons & tips: Find a meditation website!!!
Sit on the floor with your back straight, palms up, cross legged or in a half-lotus/full-lotus position. I use a cushion for more comfort.
Take 3 deep breaths to clear your mind, then scan your body and release tension in all of your muscles from head to toe. then start to focus on your breathing, but don't force it. If your mind starts to wander, make sure you notice that it is wandering. Don't force it back, but make sure you know what you were thinking about when your mind wandered, and then slowly bring your mind back to concentrating on one thing; your breathing.
