How to make stencil art
How I did it: my photo teacher taught us a method of stenciling clothes where you;
1. cut out the design with an exacto knife
2. use some form of washable adhesive to keep the stencil on the shirt (or whatever clothing article you are stenciling) and make is so no bubbles will form or so there won't be any ghost edges from the paint.
3. paint over the design with either a paint brush, or fabric friendly spray paint, normal spray paint works, but it fades out after a while.
4. Wait until it is dry and then you can do another layer, or put another cut out on top and do other colours and add other pieces to the design.
Lessons & tips: Art teachers a good people to ask for help.
If you want to reuse your stencil make it out of some kind of cuttable plastic or thick paper that will last and survive the paint jobs. Do this especially if you are doing an intricate stencil, it sucks to go through all that work of cutting it out and then just having to throw it away because the paint ruined it.
