Were there any shows that you missed?

Absolutely

... but you can get all that stuff without a TV.
Yes, you might be out of the loop in some of the most topical things, like the latest joke in SNL or Letterman any of the other late night/comedy shows. Or if you are into the reality shows, just get in line at the supermarket and catch-up with the gossip. But now you can get all that stuff in the Web.
As a matter fo fact, I don’t see why you need TV anymore, if you have a computer. You can go to Hulu, or YouTube or any number of sites, and see anything you want, when you want, including the news.
I didn’t have a computer when I did it, but now it would be SO easy. You can do it and even get rid of cable. Go to Starbucks, order a Latte and login. There is a ton of other places you can get hi-speed internet for free too.
The only reason I see to have a TV now is to watch something with your friends or family in the comfort of your own home. But you need at least 50” flat screen, nice set of sorround sound speakers, a blu-ray player and/or and Xbox and you are all set. If you want to watch “the game”, go to the bar, it’s more fun there anyway.

so right

I don’t have a TV for 2 years and before that I just switched it on when I was really really bored.
I can watch my favourite shows online as well as documentaries and the news. And all this reality show stuff does not interest me

Just a few more years and the TV will be an endangered species

TV is not the problem

we are: when we become couch potates and do nothing but veg in front of it. There is plenty of good stuff you can watch, on TV or the computer (vegging out in front of the computer is just as bad). You just need to be good about it.

Bigmighty has gotten 15 cheers on this entry.
