How I did it: Found good plane tickets with Hawaiian, a very nice hotel for a cheap price, and took 3 days off work.

First we chose the island, Oahu. Then we made a list of all the things we wanted to visit there. We prioritized the list based on the things we wanted to see most, then grouped them by location. We split the locations up per day and worked in as many attractions as possible. We left one vacation day as a flexible day in case we needed to switch things around.
