How to express myself
"A completely wortwhile goal to achieve"
How I did it:
- I took the time and put in serious effort
- Instead of bottling things up I spoke about them
- I started counselling to help myself open up
- I explained to other how I have a hard time communicating how I feel
- Despite how easy it was to remain silent I faught against it
- I became honest. I said what I felt and what I really believed and although it was not always gratefully recieved it was worth it. For example, a friend asked me would I go on a trip to ashbourne so she could go to a vets to see it. I know myself I don't like long journeys and for the destination to be filled with animals in an unknown place? It wasn't my cup of tea. So instead of saying Maybe or yes. i just plain outright said no. And it was better. Because otherwise I'd have built her hopes up and let her down at the last minute
Lessons & tips:
- Be honest. It may not be well recieved at all times but in the long run it's appreciated
- Put forth energy. It's so easy to sit back just push yourself. It's worth it
- Tell people you're trying. What you're doing. They'll appreciate it and understand it. Hell they may even commend you for it!
- Imagine. Imagine to yourself how much easier life would be if everyone said what they really thought instead of lying for the sake of it
